5 weeks, brown stringy discharge and lower back pain

Hello,

I’m an expecting the worse because I didn’t experience this with my other pregnancies (MMC & DS). I’m 5 weeks today I’ve had cramps since I found out I was pregnant, which I put down to implantation. However when I’ve wiped today there’s a very small amount of brown stringy discharge, along with this I have started with lower back pain, be honest is this a sign of MC?

Hi, there is honestly no way of knowing if it is the start but the brown discharge is common in early pregnancy, brown is the body clearing old blood. I'm 9 weeks and 1 day have have had lots of browny discharge, some with stringy bits and some with red spotting. I know of others too who started similar and have been fine but also some that have unfortunately had a miscarriage.

You could try speak with EPU, they will usually see people from around 6 weeks but usually when there's bleeding, they may consider seeing you due to history.

Please don't think my response is cold but everyone will give you their experience and it will either worry you or give you hope or leave you just as confused.
