Mam bottles or tommee tippee

Hi I’m currently pregnant, and I've been looking at which bottles to buy, I’m just wondering if you have any advice on which is better mam or tommee tippee?

If you choose MAM, can you give me the best one for breastfeeding a newborn baby?

I'm planning to switch between breastfeeding and bottle.

Mam worked well here and my DC took both bottle and breast until fully weaned

Can I add another brand into the mix? We used Nuk bottles and both of my children combi-fed happily. Also, you can buy handle attachments that fit to the same bottles when they get a bit older so they can hold the bottles themselves, and it's easy to get replacement teats with different flow rates.

Thanks for your reply! It is really useful.
Can you give me the name of the breastfeeding bottle?

Mam. For sure. I had a maternity nurse after I gave birth and she used to also be a paediatric nurse. She said Mam is the best and replicates best for breast feeding.

I bought the whole starter pack. It comes with I think 3 diff size bottles. The first can be used for newborns. Then you can change to the bigger bottles as they grow with diff flow on the teeth. I didn’t have to buy any more bottles and used them up until my child was 3.

I did MAM...but only after trying a raft of others. I ended up loving MAM (lovely colour choices and range of sizes) but the choice was entirely dictated by my baby and the teat she eventually found acceptable (or rather not...) with my expressed breast milk. It was a marathon of trial and error. So my best advice is not to buy up loads of any one brand as you have no idea in advance which you will end up with!

I found that tommee tippee leaked a lot where the top screwed on.

We had the mam anti colic ones but to be honest all the different parts were such a hassle and I’m really not sure the anti colic feature did anything.

The most important thing is having the correct teat size.

My dd is 4 weeks old and combi fed (I know that's early but she lost lots of weight so it was part of a medical feeding plan) with mam anti colic bottles. 7 years ago we had dr browns but they leaked everywhere. With the mam ones you do need to check the top is screwed on straight and teat fully in place otherwise it leaks all over the baby!

I like both

I used MAM with expressed breast milk, DS has a tongue tie, but after it was snipped he was able to BF too. I liked the microwave sterilisation option too.

We got tommee tippee last time and they were annoying. We switched to Tesco own brand which were better. Tommee tipee kept leaking. This time we have MAM so hopefully it’s better
