BadgerNotes - When did you get your booking appointment ?

I am 5w1d. I self-referred through Bader notes at 3w4days. When should I expect to hear from tge midwifes and be booked in for my 8 week appointment? I haven't heard anything yet and not sure if I should chase them. I am worried they won't book me in on time for 8 weeks and then my 12 week scan might be delayed as well.

I didn’t get my booking appointment until I was 11 weeks but my scan was within the 12-14 week bracket so try not to worry!

My booking appointment was made for when I was 8 or 9 weeks :) then I got the letter around 10 weeks for the 12 week scan

Mine said I'd hear by the 9th week of pregnancy!

I heard from the midwife around 7 weeks and was booked for my booking appointment the following week, my experience was they didn’t get in touch too early. Had no issues with the scan, I needed to change the original date and had plenty of choice.

Your booking in appointment is typically at 10 weeks from memory and mine was organised at about 8 weeks. 12 week scan was booked a day after my booking in appointment

Sa11yCinnamon · 22/11/2023 09:49

I had my booking appointment at 11 weeks and my scan six days later (was given dates for both when I registered on the phone, but different areas) so don't worry if your booking appointment isn't til a bit later.

Whataretheodds · 22/11/2023 10:08

I heard from the midwife c8 weeks. The scan booking came separately.

Absolutely too early to worry about not having an appointment

Whataretheodds · 22/11/2023 10:09

Also 12 week scan was 11-13 1/2 weeks (mine was at 13 weeks) .

Is there a particular reason you think there's a risk of your scan being delayed?

FigandHoney · 22/11/2023 19:05

Hello everyone. Thank you for your replies. Actually just got my booking appointment through for 8 weeks and 9 weeks. It seems to be split in 2 now.
@Whataretheodds I was anxious about getting my scan on time because I am now in my mid 30s, so chances of issues are higher. Also due to things that happened in my last pregnancy and birth I am now classed as a higher risk pregnancy

Off topic slightly but why are they called Badger notes? Did someone make up a completely random name for maternity notes or is there some reason the name of a medium sized omnivore was chosen?

Good luck with your pregnancy Op, hope all goes well.
