6 weeks zero symptoms even on cyclogest

Hi all, very anxious here as I’m 6 weeks pregnant (following two chemicals) and I am freaking out as I have NO symptoms. I am still getting strong positives on tests but other than that I would not have a clue I was pregnant! What worries me more is that I am on progesterone pessaries after my losses which are know for exacerbating pregnancy symptoms. So feels even more strange that I feel nothing! Has anyone at all been in this situation? I have my 7 week scan on Sunday but I’m so so nervous given that I don’t feel pregnant. Reassurance welcomed!

Hi @Eks86 just want to give you some reassurance as I’m exactly the same as you - on cyclogest following two consecutive chemicals. I have honestly had the mildest, almost undetectable symptoms so far. The main one is just getting tired from about midday onwards. No morning sickness, no breast tenderness. I had an early reassurance scan at what I thought was 6+4 but measured at 5+4 with a good strong heartbeat. I’m having another scan tomorrow where I should be measuring at least 7+1 going off the previous scan measurements. The only reason I’ve booked this additional scan is because I’m so freaked out about the lack of symptoms, despite every doctor/nurse/sonographer I’ve come across reassuring me no symptoms are very common in early pregnancy. I’m sure you’re going to be absolutely fine. It’s so scary because you’re told cyclogest can mask a miscarriage (missed miscarriage) but I don’t think it’s as common as the internet forums make out. If your symptoms have been non existent so far and that’s the norm for you currently, try not to fret too much (I know it’s so hard) xxx

@rosied31 Your reply has made me feel so much relief. Thank you so much. I know everybody is different and that there are no guarantees, but I all I seem to read on here is how people have horrific symptoms with early pregnancy plus cyclogest so I found myself thinking the worst because I really feel normal apart from some continuous cramping in week 4. Hearing your experience has already made me feel so much less anxious (I am a bit of a wreck at the moment). I am so glad your scan went well and I am sure the second one will be brilliant. I would do anything to know there is a heartbeat so I am really hoping and praying that’s what I get confirmation of at my 7 week scan on Sunday. I keep telling myself that apart from the lack of symptoms, I have every reason to be positive – strong test lines, no bleeding and the progesterone and asprin combo has been shown to work wonders for a lot of people. I also know plenty of people bleed on cyclogest so it would not necessarily mask anything. I am keeping everything crossed for the both of us that we will make it to twelve weeks and beyond.

@Eks86 you're so welcome lovely, I TOTALLY sympathise and when I saw your post today it was only because I was trawling through Mumsnet myself trying to get some reassurance too - your post is a mirror image of my own anxieties over the last couple of weeks. Pregnancy after loss is one of the toughest things I've ever been through, which feels horrible to say because it's everything I've ever wanted. But the constant worry is just so oppressive. Everyone I've spoken to keeps saying I should be over the moon about not having any symptoms but part of me thinks I'd be happier throwing up every day haha! When I saw my baby on the ultrasound screen with a heartbeat beating away I was SO shocked, I'd convinced myself that nothing was going to be in there at all. I'm a natural worrier so all I've been obsessing over since that initial scan was the fact that it was measuring behind a week going by my LMP dates but apparently that's really common and I know that I ovulate a little later than the average. Just really praying and hoping that tomorrow there has been a proportional amount of growth since the last one. Honestly I'm sure your scan on Sunday is going to be absolutely fine. I'm on the exact same combo as you, progesterone and aspirin xxx

@rosied31 I feel like you are writing exactly everything that is in my head at the moment. I’ve wanted to get to this stage for so long, and now I’m here, the anxiety is like nothing I’ve ever experienced in my life and I honestly think this is the saddest and most anxious I have ever been even though nothing bad has actually happened and I’ve got the thing that I want more than anything. My mum said I should be grateful for no symptoms and she couldn’t understand why I was so upset by her comment haha. I would do anything to be throwing up even though rationally I know symptoms are not a guarantee of anything either. That’s the problem with this whole thing….rationality goes out of the window. I am sending all the positive vibes in the world for you for your scan tomorrow and I am sure you will get the news you want. Getting a heartbeat is a huge milestone itself so all the hard work is done. These babies better be grateful for all the stress they caused us 😉

I had no symptoms at 6 weeks. Then I was sick as a dog for 3 months from 7 weeks!

Bims2019 · 21/11/2023 16:48

I took cyclogest with my IVF pregnancy, also had no symptoms until my 7 week scan. And to be honest, not that many afterwards either! No morning sickness at all. I'm now 34 weeks, so hope that gives a bit of reassurance 🙂 I know how hard it is though, you almost want those symptoms as proof that something is happening! It's an anxious time but hopefully everything will be ok

ASGIRC · 21/11/2023 16:51

I had no symptoms at 6 weeks on progesterone either.
By 7 weeks I had some mild symptoms. They never got particularly severe, but werent pleasant.

rosied31 · 22/11/2023 11:06

@Eks86 just wanted to update that I had my scan this morning and all is well! It's grown soooo much since my first early reassurance scan and I heard the heartbeat which was mad. So hope this gives you reassurance about the lack of symptoms xxx

Hoping4amiracle · 22/11/2023 12:43

Ladies, your stories are giving me a little hope. Other than a raging cold my symptoms have almost disappeared and I’m five weeks. I get the odd bit of cramping and back pain in the evening but it doesn’t last long - no bleeding yet.

Promised myself I’d wait to 7 weeks before going for a viability scan but the wait is killing me, so much anxiety after five previous losses. Wish I could press a fast forward button xx

Eks86 · 22/11/2023 12:48

@rosied31 fantastic! So so happy for you! Brilliant news and I really hope it’s helped you feel more relaxed! Makes me very hopeful I will be able to give you the same update later this week :)

I am in the exact same position! I am 6 weeks pregnant and on those same progesterone pessories following 5day embryo transfer . I honestly have zero symptoms and worried too. Sore boobs but I don't know if that's the medication. I have a scan next week.
How did things turn out for you? Have you had symptoms since?

SlowmoJo · 29/11/2023 21:02

Hi ladies, I know this was posted a few days ago but just to reassure everyone who may be worrying - I’m currently 19 weeks pregnant and was also on cyclogest + a different brand of progesterone 3 times per day for the first 13 weeks… I didn’t feel pregnant until maybe 3 weeks ago! Not even a hint of nausea, tiredness or sore boobs.

The first few weeks feel like they go on forever but I definitely began feeling less worried as time went on. xx
