6 weeks and 1 day today and I know I should stop testing but finding it hard not to! I have a 7 week scan booked but I’m driving myself insane up until then! Is this line what you would expect for 6 weeks? It’s not a dye stealer and I can’t help but fret….

Hello 👋 it looks like a strong line to me!

What concerns you about it? 💐

Beginningless · 20/11/2023 13:11

I agree, looks good, what’s wrong? I agree with you that you should stop testing! Also agree that you are driving yourself insane. Ask your partner to take all the tests away and plan some nice things to pass the time until your scan? Know it’s not easy but try and focus on what makes you feel calm and relaxed, not more anxious.

It just says you are pregnant, I’m not sure what other information you want from it?

gamerchick · 20/11/2023 13:15

Why do people have such a thing for dye stealers?

Stop testing man, you're not going to get a stronger positive.

Staggersaurus · 20/11/2023 13:17

If I did a test with such a clear line I’d think I was pregnant. What are you seeing that we are not?

CB2805 · 20/11/2023 13:40

I used to do the same so I understand🤭 it’s not about the line itself or being pregnant (we know that!!) it’s more about the progression that everyone is raving about online!
It just doesn’t get any darker hun, it’s all good🫶🏻
hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy🩵

I guess my concern is that at 6 weeks pregnant it should be darker or a dye stealer? It will come as no surprise that I have had previous early losses, hence why I am bit paranoid. I am just wondering if most people have darker lines at this stage. I am on progesterone supplements so I feel like testing is the only way I can tell I am still pregnant. I have no symptoms and the progesterone would probably stop any bleeding. I no I am being a bit silly but its so hard not to worry when you've had losses already.

I don't really think the line could get much darker. In the politest way possible.. step away from the tests!

PinkRoses1245 · 20/11/2023 13:54

What on earth is a dye stealer? You're pregnant, that's all it tells you. Darkness of line is not indicative of progress. And kindly, you can't do anything about progress or outcome. Control what you can and be patient.

GoingToInfinity · 20/11/2023 13:58

I never got a dye stealer with this pregnancy, and I'm 24 weeks with a happy healthy baby girl. As hard as it is, try and relax. That is a lovely strong positive, and if you have no other worrying symptoms, things are likely okay.

I am almost the same stage as you - currently 6W 3d pregnant. I also did many tests at the beginning to check on progression as I thought seeing the line getting darker would be reassuring. But I stopped testing after 20DPO, and won't buy any more now. I just had to tell myself that no matter how may tests I stare at, it won't change what's happening inside me. So better to try to distract yourself and wait for a scan where you can know what is happening for sure.

I know it's stressful, and easier said than done, but I'm in the same boat as you! I have a scan booked in for Friday when I'll be 7 weeks to check there's a heartbeat.

I also had a chemical pregnancy a few months ago where I saw the line start to fade so I do understand the anxiety and desire to keep testing. But in the end, it's only gonna cause more distress if you don't see exactly what you want.

Also, one test on its own won't tell you anything at this stage as it's all relative to tests you've done previously. And there's things that can impact it, e.g. how much you've drank / time of day etc.

Good luck with your 7 week scan - hopefully we both get good news! x

Pls stop testing as it's just going to make you feel worse. And I say this as someone who had losses before a successful one. The darkness of the line is just fine and as long as you don't start bleeding and having pain you can assume all is fine. Once you have your scan you hopefully manage to relax and enjoy the pregnancy.

UpUpUpU · 20/11/2023 15:28

OP, put down the tests. They give no information on the progress of your pregnancy
