I'm 15 weeks pregnant.. I had a hot bath as it's always the only thing that helps my migraines strangly ( before pregnant )

I didn't realise this wasn't allowed and now I'm freaking out..

At my 12 week scan everything was perfect.

I'm not sensitive to the heat, but I'm aware it was probably not to someone else and now I'm freaking I've done something wrong

Avoiding hot baths is more to do with being dizzy when you stand up than being dangerous to the baby. How hot are we talking anyway? Unless you were fully immersed in a scalding hot bath I'm sure your baby will be fine.

I looked into this when I was pregnant as hot baths are one of the few things that help balance my neurodiverse brain, and the guidance is extremely overcautious. For the water to be hot enough to raise your internal temperature to a dangerous level it would be so hot you physically wouldn’t be able to get in the water, it would burn you. There is also a risk of increasing bloody pressure and fainting, but if you’re having enough water and it’s a heat you’re comfortable with, I wouldn’t worry much there either just be aware of how you feel.
In short, don’t worry you and baby will be fine

I wouldn't worry about it as it was one off.

I was in a sauna, steam room and hot tub in in early pregnancy. All was fine! I'm 20 weeks tomorrow x

I agree with this - the main risk is that you get so much vasodilation that you faint.

Basically, you'd feel really poorly before it got to the point of harming the baby.

Do you/did you feel poorly, op? If not, it's fine I'm sure.

I've had to stop going to steam rooms during this pregnancy for more than about 2 mins at a time because it makes me feel light headed and poorly. Your body tells you what you can handle

I agree with all that has gone before. I used the jacuzzi at the gym while pregnant, but not for more than 10 mins at a time because that felt right. Don't worry, you'd know if you had over done it.

I had the same freak out when I read at 14 weeks it isn’t recommended for pregnant people to have hot baths during the first trimester as it affects neural tube development. We had no working shower at the time and very bad heating (winter) so I was having a scalding bath every single day after work. DD is almost 11 weeks now and guzzling away at my boob as I type :)

also I continued to have baths until third trimester as had no other option, just maybe not as scalding hot!
