Hi, did anybody have BV during pregnancy and what were your symptoms?
At 20 weeks I felt a painful sensation in my vulva, which after three days turned to itchiness. I went to see my OB two days after my symptoms started (since it was the weekend), and she said that she sees only redness and that my vagina seems fine. I didn't have issues while peeing, or any pain in my vagina itself. Only on the vulva.
She took swabs for HPV (came back negative) and told me to do blood tests on genital herpes (but she didn't see any lesions).
She dismissed BV as I've had swabs done at 13 week pregnant and they were negative.
Also I don't have any discharge, just some from vaginal progesterone. So no watery discharge, no fishy smell...
I'm thinking of pushing on swabs next week, just in case.
What were your symptoms of BV in pregnancy? Is it too late if I do the swabs in 10 days (I'm seeing my OB on thursday) - that will be more than two weeks from the start of my symptoms.
She gave me a antifungal and antibacterial cream to use on my vulva, and the pain stopped and itchiness started when I started using it..
