Hey all, has anyone gone through nhs funded ivf through creat fertility. Do you know if you get weighed every-time you go in for scans etc.

thanks xxx

@Shan220197 I recently went through NHS funded treatment with Create and had a very positive experience. I was only weighed the first time I visited the clinic before treatment started.

I've put a few pounds on since my initial consultation and have to go in to have a scan due to my period not coming but I'm worried they will weight me. Which branch did you go to xx

Can't help with the NHS aspect but Ive only ever been weighed at the start of my treatment cycle never during. It also depends by what you mean 'a few pounds'. It's normal to gain a bit just before your period in water weight. When my period didn't turn up (totally out of character) I gained so much weight, I was scanned no issues found and I was prescribed something to induce a bleed. Not had an issue before or since, they said most likely caused by anxiety around starting treatment and that it's really common. Based on my experience I don't think they will weigh you but even if they did they'd expect some gain and not be too concerned. Good luck

I think it's sort of dependent on the clinic and the area. We decided we had to go private in the end as the clinic told me I'd be weighed at every appointment throughout the process and if at any point I went over the BMI they set then the treatment would stop. Regardless of if the medication caused the increase or not. I just couldn't live through that worry. Privately I was weighed at my first appointment and that's it.

@Shan220197 I was with the Wilmslow clinic near Manchester, how about you? I agree with the previous poster who said it probably depends on what you mean by a few pounds, but in general I don't think they would tend to weigh you again before a scan. Hope it goes ok for you

I've put on around 5lbs so not a lot but I imagine how strict they are with BMI. I'm with create fertility Birmingham xx

I was only ever weighed for my first consultation (and I'm not even sure they did it then tbh) I deffo wasn't weighed before each scan (Create London)

Also... Best of luck 🤞 I've heard mixed reviews about Create, but they were fantastic for me ☺️
