Re-frozen ice cream

Hi, I am currently 22 weeks pregnant. I’m not sure if I am overreacting but a few weeks ago I sat and enjoyed half a tub of haagen dasz ice cream! I ate it straight from the tub and put the rest back in the freezer!

I’ve just finished the other half straight from the tub! I then thought ‘what if some of the ice cream was melted then re-froze again?’.. I’ve googled it and states to never eat thawed ice cream as can grow listeria! Baby is enjoying the ice cream as can feel them
moving around in there lol, but just wanted reassurance that it’ll be ok… 🙏🏼

The taste and texture were absolutely fine so I’m sure all is fine.. But I won’t eat it again straight from the tub 🙈

I think you would know if you had a problem as you would be very unwell. Try not to worry but I know it's hard not to. When I was pregnant I remember eating chicken at a bbq and finding it wasn't cooked properly and got myself in a terrible state over it

Logically: even if some of the ice cream melted when you ate the first half of the pot a few weeks ago, was it at room temperature long enough for bacteria to multiply? Maybe you had it out for half an hour, but the temp of the product would most likely have remained under 4 degrees. I mean I wouldn't do this a dozen times, but one eating session, then returning to the freezer and freezing back to solid, then eating the rest sounds okay to me.

Ice cream is a risk product mainly when it's the soft, Mr Whippy type stuff (and that can be down to practices in hygiene, the machines not being cleaned properly).

You can probably relax about it!
