Hi all,

I'm 8 weeks tomorrow, had a scan at 7 weeks (via clinic) and one at 7+3 (via EPU).

I'm looking to book a private scan before my 12 NHS scan just as reassurance. I just wondered for anyone who has a scan between 8 and half and 10 and half weeks what could you see?

Was the placenta in place? Or sack still showing and baby inside?

Not sure why but feel like my next hurdle is all going well with placenta taking over so keen to see it at or just after that point.

If people couple tell me the week and days of scan and what they could see that would be super helpful. I do get everyone else slightly different though

Thanks in advance

We had a private scan for reassurance at 9w 6d I think it was, no placenta as still had sac visible but she looked like a little baby already. I’ll attach a photo below :)

Top one was at 8ish weeks and the bottom one at 10 weeks, at the 10 week one we could see arms and legs, where as they were little nubs in the 8 week one

I had a scan for bleeding at 10.5 weeks and saw a recognisable tiny baby. The scans at 7 and 8 weeks were just heartbeat plus a shape.
Not much was said about the placenta. I was diagnosed with a serious problem with the umbilical cord at 20w which would have been present earlier but not visible/noticed. Unfortunately there isn’t a way to tell how things are going to work out in the end and pregnancy is really living with uncertainty. I had a 5% chance of the baby surviving which seemed pretty clear to me, but to our surprise he made it.
