Hello

I'm 25 weeks

I feel like I'm bursting for a wee but when I go, I barely wee at all.

Is this normal in pregnancy or do you think it sounds like a water infection?

Thanks in advance x

Hmm doesn’t sound normal to me, but everyone is different. I’d tell the midwife and see if they suspect a UTI

Could be where baby is lying. I often think I need a wee but when I get there - nope just baby. Def get checked out if you feel like you need to though - better to be safe than sorry.

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 13/11/2023 19:55

I would ask you midwife to test your wee for a UTI x

Definitely test but random tip - wee then whilst still sitting slightly lift your belly then try again. The weight of it can make it hard to fully empty bladder

Hi
I’m 32 weeks and have this on off. I’ve worked out It’s when baby is pressing into my bladder it just constantly feels like I need to pee!

FirstMondayInMay · 13/11/2023 20:33

Yeah I agree with PP, try lifting your tummy up and leaning forward slightly. I always seem to get a bit more out doing this!

Finchgold · 13/11/2023 21:38

The pee of disappointment. It’s a thing, you think you need but then hardly anything comes out. Drink loads of water so you’re guaranteed a good pee every time!

This is a classic uti symptom. You definitely need a urine test. Just contact yoir gp in the morning, say you're pregnant and are having uti symptoms, they'll have you in same day.

If it comes back negative, it's likely the baby causing it.

Cookiedough123 · 13/11/2023 22:17

I had this and eventually the more pregnant I got the more I needed to ‘not wee’. Once I had my son it was so amazing not needing the toilet constantly!

Mummymummy89 · 13/11/2023 22:19

Sounds like a UTI. I keep getting them in this pregnancy. Please get it checked because it can cause premature labour if untreated, this nearly happened in my last pregnancy (I go on about it a lot, it was scary!)

princefamilypaper · 14/11/2023 14:20

I'm 19'weeks and Im experiencing the same. very annoying

mcrsi · 14/11/2023 14:26

Thanks for all your responses! Had an appointment with my midwife today, she did a dip test and said everything was okay. She said it's probably baby sitting on my bladder 😂 x

I also had similar, without a UTI, and found that leaning forward while on the loo (quite far forward, like hands on the floor, bum sticking up, very elegant) made more wee come. I assumed it was to do with the position of the baby.

This made me laugh 😂 noted, I'll try this when I next go! Thank you x
