Just wondering has anyone has acupuncture during pregnancy? Specifically early pregnancy. I did acupuncture leading upto my ivf transfer and my acupuncturist said its safe during pregnancy but I just wanted to get others opinions obviously I don't want to stimulate points that might cause harm

Yes I did in my first pregnancy. I'd had a previous miscarriage so I had it weekly first trimester to try to mitigate the risk of that happening again. I also had induction acupuncture prior to my induction at 37 weeks, and I think that did help because it was a successful induction with no interventions, despite being at an early stage.

There are points they need to avoid, id just make sure you are at one who is very familiar with pregnancy

I had acupuncture and moxi up until 37 weeks in my last pregnancy, on a fortnightly basis I think it was.

Relaxed me and I used to love it. Was just expensive so not had it this time round.

Just make sure you go to a fully qualified practitioner and they will know what to avoid.

I was getting acupuncture prior to being pregnant and have continued. There’s certain points that we don’t do anymore but my lady explained everything to me so I feel really safe. It’s meant to help with nausea but unfortunately didn’t for me but it is really helping with pregnancy related headaches, bloating and sore boobs. I’m going to carry on until birth and probably after as well.

I did it before my second round of IVF and up to 12 weeks pregnant with a fertility acupuncturist. I think it helped me. X
