Early scan measuring small but heartbeat seen?

Hello,

The first day of my last period was 1st October. I believe I conceived on 11th October - positive OPK and temp rise. If I go by conception date I'm 6 weeks 4 days. If I go by period I'm 6 weeks today. I've had some brown blood today so paid for a private scan where they saw no explanation for the bleeding and everything in the right place. We also saw the baby's heartbeat. However the measurement was 1.8mm which looks around 4 weeks?? Wondering what to make of this.

Hi OP you can only see a heartbeat from around 5+6 I believe. Did they tell you baby was measuring 4 weeks? I don't think they can see much at all at 4 weeks so is a bit confusing. X

No they didn't say I was measuring at 4 weeks, that's just from me looking online 1.8mm seems to correspond with about 4 weeks or so? Might be wrong but 6 weeks seems to be about 4-5mm.

Hi @User13355 ..

do you have any update on this?
I’m in exact position for day of LMP was 1st October, I had a scan at early pregnancy last Friday which showed sac with yolk but no fetal pole.. sac measurement suggested I was 5week 5 days, which is around right…

Wednesday I started noticing pink cm, which seemed to get a little heavier by Thursday (yesterday) so went in to get checked out as had previous MC back in june. They scanned me and saw fetal pole with heartbeat which was reassuring but measuring 6week1 day so a few days out compared to last week although they said this may be position of fetal pole and not to worry

I’ve came home and yesterday afternoon I’ve started bleeding red blood which I’m alarmed at but they have also prescribed me progesterone because of this. now it’s turning brown so not sure what to make of this or whether it will continue but naturally I a am up a height…

Did your brown spotting subside?

X

@Lollywhite I am so sorry that you’re in this position. I’ve had 3 MC and 3 CP so I know exactly how you’re feeling right now.

Over the past few years I think I must have read everything there is to read on this on the internet and there are both positive and negative stories.

I know it’s so so hard, because as I said I know exactly how you feel. But Google, Mumsnet etc, they can’t tell you how your specific situation will end.

Try to distract yourself if you can. Try keeping your phone in a different room so you can’t as easily access it to google things. There is nothing more you can do and you will feel a tiny bit better if you put your phone away and watch some shit TV instead.

You are doing absolutely everything you can. And please know that if this does end in a MC (which I pray for you it doesn’t) that this isn’t your fault.

I’ve got all my fingers crossed for you 💕

@Lollywhite I'm afraid I don't have an update and my brown spotting has not subsided (it's been 6 days). I hope to have another scan next week.

Hello @User13355 & @Lollywhite it sounds like we’re in similar situations, I should have been 6 weeks on Friday and had an early scan due to spotting (and previous MMC), heartbeat seen but measuring small (again, didn’t tell me how small!) I’ve scoured Google and can’t seem to find any definitive answers about what it means, so waiting til next Friday for my re-scan. Feeling very anxious and the waiting is driving me mad, so wanted to jump on and say hi, and I hope you’re doing ok. X

@Wise0wl thank you I hope all will be well for you. Sadly I miscarried over the weekend but I think I could have predicted that more because the shape of the sac seen on my scan was abnormal. Hopefully your measurements will have caught up at your next scan.
