Sorry guys i disdappeared! Tryign to combat a 9 to 5.30 job, nausea and tiredness!! ARGGHH!! I did start a thread on the Whittington and I keep getting mixed reviews.

A lot has happened, my doctor (I recently moved houses) was completely pants, and didn;t really giveme a selection of hospitals, and she's mentioend a coupel of things that just make me think that she might not know as much as she should (i had to ask her if I needed to be on folic etc... thank god husband is a pharmacists!). i wasn;t really given a choice in hospitals either, so anyway I need to find a new doctor in Edgeware (subject of another thread perhaps!).

The whittington in terms of location is great. My husband works in Islington so I'm thinking it might be the one, but i guess it depends on if I chnage the doctor what choices they give me.

I;m seriously considering an independent midwife as well, so if you know of anyone who knows the whittington well and has a good history then please let me know!

Sorry for the essay!

1st time... you have rights and choices and you have the right to choose which hospital you want as long as it isn't full.

I had 4 of my 5 at the Whit. I've been to lots of client births there. It's fine. There are some lovely lovely mws there. And a rather gorgeous Doctor... but that's another story!

Ooh Mars, if I get to have another baby I'll have to ask about the gorgeous doctor and look out for him. Not that I would have been interested at all, but I only remember meeting 3 male doctors in the maternity unit - an elderly one, the one who told me he wanted me booked in for induction later the same week when I was 40+6 and the one at the delivery who also did my stitches (fortunately very well so that was the important thing I guess)

Hi all,

ok the scan went well.. it;s amazing what you can see at such early stages !!!

my husband and are were in shock!

I have an appointment with my new doctor on Monday to talk through things so I'm looking forward to that. This will probably be the first propoer chat I'll be having about my pregnancy so I'm hoping to sort this whole hospital thing out as well.

Fantastic! Been waiting to see how it all went.

Excellent!

1sttimer80 · 02/04/2008 12:29

ok, so I went to see my new doctor today and felt very reassured coming out of there. She detected soem protein and leukocytes in urine so she;s going to send it off for soem more tests so we'll see what happens there.

She's also going to write a letter to royal free and see if they'll take me, so I'll hear back in 2 weeks. I also need to start booking appointments to see the independent midwives. Will keep you guys informed!
