Cervical exam lead to extreme back labor

39 weeks preggo and went in for a cervical exam because I thought my water broke. Jokes on me, because it was just a ton of discharge. I was in early labour with mild contractions before i went for the check, but after the check, the pain of my contractions went up two-fold with crazy back pain! Is this normal? Did the check accelerate the process? I was only 1cm dilated at the time.

How are you feeling OP? From what I have heard, those kind of things can cause you to dilate quicker. I have no experience of this myself, but a few people I know have said after they were checked, contractions ramped up and they ended up dilating quite quickly

Sounds like baby was also in back to back position? I had the same with my first and the contractions were hell!! I hope you had a safe and positive birth x
