Progesterone and no aspirin…thoughts?

After a late MC, I am in early stages of another pregnancy.
I have been given high dosage folic acid and progesterone to take until approx 12 weeks.

I mentioned aspirin and they have said they dont recommend it in early pregnancy (but I know others have had it)

any thoughts? I just want to try and do the best I can x

Progesterone will support the pregnancy. Aspirin doesn't prevent a miscarriage, it's not given for that, usually for people with blot clotting or blood pressure issues. I wouldn't be taking anything you haven't been advised to

@ttcsolomumtobe thanks for replying. In my debrief notes after my miscarriage the consultant says in another pregnancy she would issue aspirin daily and progesterone from 16 weeks so dont know whats changed. Tried contacting her secretary for a hard answer.

Ahh okay I can understand the confusion then so worth double checking. I think the aspirin is given very cautiously. Hope you get some answers soon

Enjoy the lack of heart burn 🤣 I'm on 150mg aspirin daily to try and prevent high blood pressure and preeclampsia in this pregnancy, and I am not enjoying it - it makes the heart burn worse

Bizjustgotreal · 10/11/2023 13:18

Also - sorry for your loss and congratulations on the new pregnancy

Your consultant said aspirin from 16 weeks and the criteria is either one of the high risk risk factors or 2 or the normal risk factors which I've linked below.

So if it isn't indicated ie you don't fit the criteria, then try not to worry too much about it.

I started taking baby aspirin the month I conceived, my obgyn said I should now keep taking it to 36 weeks. She also prescribed progesterone starting from my 8 week scan to take till 12 weeks due to previous losses.

All the best!

@AussieManque its so confusing all the differing advice 🙈
I have my first booking in appointment today so I can ask about it there but it jus seems like each area doesnt communicate. Just want a straight answer x
