Hello.
looking for some advice I was started on Cyclogest monday 30th, due to recurrent losses.
I had a scan at 6+3 weeks and saw a heart beat, never seen before!
For the last 4 days I have noticed a light brownish spotting/discharge on panty liner. Normally it’s in afternoon after using the Cyclogest .
has anyone else had similar and all was ok with pregnancy?
terrified it’s a sign of miscarriage coming on :( any reassurance would be great.

Hey…

ive been on cyclogest since finding out I was pregnant (11DPO)… after 2 weeks I started experiencing brown discharge with a large clot of stringy discharge. Sorry for TMI..

I’ve now been doing the pessaries rectally and haven’t really had anymore blood/discharge except if I go for a poo!

try doing it rectally if you can as it can irritate your cervix xx

Hi

j agree with the previous poster about using it rectallly as I had the same and was advised to do so as it’s easier to figure out if the bleeding is related to cervix irritation from pessaries or something else. I too have recurrent losses and still trying to find a solution. I wish you all the best for this pregnancy

Thanks for the reassurance both of you :)
the EPU aren’t overly helpful/ empathetic in these situations.
think I will try that as have read it a lot but may wait till my midwife appointment next week just before I do.

sorry to hear about your losses and hope there will be some good news soon. Xx

I have found the same with EPU but found the recurrent loss clinic are amazing and offer reassurance scans annd a telephone helpline etc however I think you need a GP referral for their care x

Yeah I’ve been on the waiting since august! Still not heard anything. I don’t know if they would see me whilst I’m pregnant. See what happens.

are you still under investigation? X

I was on them with my little girl and now my second pregnancy. I have found putting them the back passage is better. It might just be irritating you and causes the discharge. Try the other end and see if that helps. It's also less messy and you don't have to do the laying down

Yes the clinic support women during early pregnancy - I am unsure about the later stages as I cannot seem to make it that far. I am under the care of the Coventry clinic and had an appointment within 2 months of referral. Unfortunately I’ve had 4 losses - 2 with a heartbeat and 2 prior to heartbeat being seen. I wish you a better outcome and hope you don’t end up needing them and everything goes smoothly x
