UTI in pregnancy symptoms?

I thought I had a UTI last week as I had a feeling of incomplete bladder emptying and a slightly stinging when I pee’d. My GP prescribed Nitrofurantoin for 3 days, but they didn’t ask for a urine sample. I finished those on Sunday but I’m still wondering if the UTI has cleared up. I still feel like my bladder hasn’t emptied completely after peeing.

The thing is when I’ve had a UTI before pregnancy it was much more painful and I had seen blood in my urine. Can UTI symptoms differ in pregnancy? Is there a chance I feel like my bladder is empty just because I’m pregnant? I’m only 17 weeks so don’t exactly have a huge bump pressing on my bladder.

I'm 18 weeks and do have the bladder emptying issue/ constant need to pee already.

With my son's pregnancy I got Utis A LOT. Only one resulted in blood in my urine and I was sent to hospital for that one, that's when it is becoming a kidney infection usually. With Utis I get a discomfort, irritating feeling I can't explain it. You can buy the urine sample strips on Amazon if you want to keep an eye yourself. There's a possibility the 3 days worth wasn't enough to clear it up, I often needed atleast a week. But it could also just be pregnancy, it's so hard to say without a pee sample.

Tho a uti that is left to worsen can become risky in pregnancy so I'd definitely keep an eye on it x

I'd get in touch with your midwife. They will test your pee.
Surprised GP didn't test it before hanging out antibiotics. You need to be literally nearly dying at ours to get anything!
I've had cystitis before and it is the worst thing ever. I remember afterwards feeling like I still had it because I'd had it for around 2 weeks and forgot what it felt like to feel normal down there.
I can also feel it coming on, but a flush out with lots of water normally prevents it.
Are you keeping hydrated?

When I’ve had cystitis before it’s been more acute as in I couldn’t leave the toilet and any weeing was excruciating, I don’t feel like that this time, it’s more when I’ve been to the toilet I still feel the urge.

I’m seeing my midwife Friday for my 16 week appointment (slightly late), would you wait until then or call the GP today? My surgery are very good especially when I mention I’m pregnant.
