Frozen Chicago town pizza

I’ll start this by saying my pregnancy eating is always unusual. I end up panicking about every single thing I eat. I have anxiety after recurrent miscarriages.

frozen Chicago town would be ok wouldn’t it? I keep thinking about them!

Yes, that would be fine. What reason do you think it wouldn't be?

I know it sounds ridiculous. I struggle to eat anything in pregnancy due to nausea but also I panic that everything will hurt the baby 😢

You probably need to speak to your midwife about the anxiety as that’s going to be a tough pregnancy.

totally understand the cause of the anxiety and many on here have suffered with it ans had help via the midwife so something you should definitely look into!

ShirleyPhallus · 07/11/2023 12:54

You need some help about your anxiety, kindly

Igglepiggleandhisboat · 07/11/2023 13:11

How do I access support at this stage? I first meet the midwife in three weeks x

Perfectly fine, I lived off frozen pizzas and chicken nuggets until about 18 weeks🤣

justanotherlaura · 07/11/2023 13:36

I had a little food anxiety in my first pregnancy too. Try and work out what it it's that would be bad in a food, print out the nhs guidance if you have to so you can reference it.

For your frozen pizza, bread is fine, tomato sauce is fine, mozzarella is fine and I just googled to check, pepperoni is fine too if that's your favourite like mine is!

My husband is a chef and bought me a temperature probe. Food must be 75 degrees to be considered safe so I test everything before I eat it, gives me a little piece of mind, especially with things like chicken

Hope you can start to relax a little with a bit of research!

dementedpixie · 07/11/2023 13:39

As long as you cook it first you'll be fine 😆.

Most things you are warned about are made safer by cooking e.g. soft mould ripened/blue cheeses, cured meats, etc

EarthlyNightshade · 07/11/2023 13:40

Cook it though, right? Not directly from freezer.

Ballsbaill · 07/11/2023 13:55

Don't know why you'd want to eat such poor quality pizza but that aside it should be safe

This. Perfectly safe but nutritionally pointless. Please seek some mental health support when you see the midwife.

Igglepiggleandhisboat · 07/11/2023 14:21

Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it.
for those of you questioning it’s nutrition m, I’m well aware that it’s not good for me but being so nauseous I’m hardly eating so when I fancy something and it’s safe I’m going to eat it as it’s better ham not eating!

It will be fine. I’m 11 weeks and can only stomach frozen pizza/ chips/ quorn nuggets. Pointless mentioning it’s unhealthy. If I can’t keep vegetables down, I’m not going to eat them.

Its quite common for pregnant women to eat things that they just fancy.

OopsieeDaisy · 07/11/2023 15:13

Personally I quite like them and I’ve eaten plenty this pregnancy (and last!)

Luxell934 · 07/11/2023 16:04

Frozen pizza is perfectly safe, eat whatever you can stomach or fancy.

3lele · 07/11/2023 16:10

I wouldn’t worry. I lived off frozen food and takeaways throughout my pregnancy. Not saying that’s what everyone should do but I literally couldn’t stomach anything else. My DD is perfectly healthy.

Lottie917 · 07/11/2023 16:23

This has been one of my cravings this pregnancy - totally fine to eat them! Even the pepperoni ones as it's been frozen and then just make sure they're cooked through properly.
Also yes as others have mentioned not the most nutritious thing, but everything in moderation and all that... and as you say, if you fancy it and are struggling to eat much, eating something you fancy is better than not eating at all. Enjoy the pizza! 😊
