Dropping hgc levels - waiting for a miscarriage?

Hi there,

Ive been through a fertility clinic to help to get pregnant (I have pcos). Amazingly I got pregnant! They gave me an estimate date which would make me 8 weeks along now.

About two weeks ago I started bleeding quite a lot. I was recommended to go to the doctor. I had another scan and they estimated me at 6 weeks. So I was surprised at that. My hcg levels dropped over 48hr from 42000 to 37000. But surprisingly there was a faint heartbeat on the scan.

A week later I’ve been for another scan. Again they said I’m measuring at 6 weeks so it appears the baby isn’t growing. There was a super faint heartbeat. The scanner struggled to get it this time. Again my hcg levels have dropped over the week by 20%.

I know the outlook isn’t good. I’ve been told by professionals that I’m probably miscarrying. I suppose I’m internet to know if anyone has had a similar experience and what happened for them? The waiting is a cruel game to play. Thanks

Hi, I’ve got history of miscarriages and went for a early scan but only measured 5 weeks, then a day later I experienced really bad cramps and bleeding on and off so I went for bloods every 2 days for a week and my hcg levels were slightly dropping, however been for a scan today and baby is now measuring 6 weeks 3 days and got a strong heart beat, although I am still bleeding heavy and got pains they don’t seem concerned but I’m really worried it’s going to happen again and I will miscarry soon😢…
