Hi all. I hope this is the correct place to post. I started bleeding today and a scan was booked for pretty much instantly. It was a confirmed missed misscarriage. I am 11+4 and baby measuring 5 weeks with no heartbeat so no chance of mixed up dates.

The bleeding started at brown discharge and blood by lunchtime. Its still very pink and mixed with discharge but clear its blood.

Anybody tjay has been through this. I feel like it is going to pass naturally now. Has thay been the case for you and how long does it take. I'm just worried and want to know what to 3xpect as this is my first pregnancy and I have no clue.

Thanks so much for any advice

I'm sorry for your loss. Physically, I had a mmc at my scan - baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks. I.opted for the natural route and nothing happened for another 2 weeks. When it did start it was very quick from first bleeding.

I had previous mc at 5 weeks and they were like a heavy period, so hopefully physically it won't be too painful (one at 8 weeks was painful with contractions).

I've gone on to have 2 healthy dc so good luck in future.

Sorry for your loss. Its an awful thing to go through. I had a mmc in April this year. I started bleeding so opted for a natural loss. Only this lead to nearly 5 weeks of constant (not heavy) bleeding. Turned out I had retained tissue so had to have medical management to get the last of it our. If I has to do it again I would do the medical management straight away. Mentally it was hard. I felt like I was stuck in that time and couldn't begin to move on as I was constantly bleeding.
Hope everything goes as well as can be for you.

I have had surgical management for MMC on Friday just gone. Found out at 12 week scan that embryo only 6 weeks and no heartbeat. I am recovering well. I think you bleed longer if you lose naturally or take medical management but different for everyone and always awful! So sorry for your loss.

Hi, thank you all for passing on your experience and so sorry for your losses. I was bleeding and cramping last night but i the middle of the night they got very intense and like someone said very contraxtion like. Every 1.5 minutes one came, and one of them I felt something pass. I went back to the toilet again and had passed the entire sac in one. It was a very strange experience I wasnt expecting to see that. I then continued to bleed and pass clots so I think it has passed and will just be bleeding for a while now. I am quite pleased it happened quick. I have to go back for a rescan next week and feeling positive it will all be passed. Thanks again xx
