Bleeding brown blood for 3 weeks

Just that really. I've been bleeding brown blood (sometimes more reddish, sometimes brown) in small quantity for three weeks now. I'm so worried.
I'm 12 weeks and 5 days.

Been trying so hard to get seen but just told it's not possible because I'm not 18 weeks yet and to just wait for my 12 week scan appointment which I haven't received. A & E also doesn't offer scans in my hospital.

I had a private scan at 9 weeks pregnant when I first started bleeding and baby was fine, I was told it was implantation bleeding, but it came back after a few days and hasn't stopped since!

Has this ever happened to anyone?
thank you

I would contact the midwifes or EPU and let them know. It might be nothing, but I would think this would need to be investigated.

Definitely try EPU, mine has been incredibly helpful. I bled brown (and some red) blood for 3-4 weeks and everything so far is fine, it seems to have stopped now.

I went in and they refused to see me
they said I wasn't 18 weeks and they couldn't see me until then

That is awful! Maybe they work differently in your area.

Failing that, I called 111 when I was bleeding and they referred me to the A&E for a scan. Might be worth trying that for peace of mind. That was quite a quick process.

Hope you get seen soon. Nothing worse than being worried.

I’m sorry Epu won’t see you, do you have a maternity triage you could contact? Have you seen or spoken to a Midwife?

lilyblue5 · 07/11/2023 12:54

I know everyone is different and obviously you need to be seen.
But I had this half my pregnancy with my now almost 10 Yr old.
Hope it all works out for you x

EPU is early pregnancy unit, they should absolutely see you before 18 weeks (where I live they won't see you after 12).

Definitely try 111, keep pushing x
