Hi everyone

This is my first pregnancy and I'm 9 weeks today.

I've been experiencing nausea for a few weeks now, probably since week 5-6, it was a bit up and down but I had it every day, just some were better than others.

Last week, Friday-Sunday it was much worse, I was sick after everything I ate and just felt horrendous.

But I'm really worried now because for the past three days, I don't think I've had any nausea at all? Since the MS started I've not been able to eat in a morning, it would set me off retching and/or being sick, but I've been fine since Monday.

Is this/can this be normal? To have bad nausea and then all of a sudden go to none at all?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

At this stage of the pregnancy towards the end of the 1st trimester yes it can indeed be very normal. Do you have any other symptoms like sore breasts?

FinallyPregnant23 · 01/11/2023 14:56

@TTCbaby2023 Thanks for replying. No, not really, but I've not had any other symptoms from the start really. I feel slightly a bit puffier around my middle maybe, the past couple of days when I've got dressed I've felt like my jumpers were a little bit snugger but that could just be wishful thinking, not sure if it's too early to notice something like that.

At this stage, it can be perfectly normal and could actually come back at any point and sometimes worse but if you are worried, maybe talk to your midwife about it? I also had nausea in the first trimester but it was quite erratic, I would have it for a few days then nothing and then back.
Have you had any scan up until now?

cosymama2020 · 01/11/2023 15:29

I’m 9 weeks and mine has stopped/lessened hugely after around 5 weeks of being really bad. I had a scan yesterday and baby was fine and heart was beating.

That's reassuring to hear @cosymama2020 ! Thank you.

@TTCbaby2023 I had a scan at 6w2d and everything looked good, and I have another one next week, so I will just sit tight. I have just spoken to my midwife actually and she said it was fine, I think I'm just probably fretting over nothing.

Totally normal. I had nausea in the first trimester & not a glimmer of it again.

Mine just stopped over night with all 3 pregnancies. I’d expected it to gradually improve but I just literally woke up one morning and it was gone!
