So nauseous with fourth baby but never before - cause for concern?

Hello
I’m pregnant with my fourth (2 boys/1girl at home) and this is the first pregnancy I feel so nauseous. Has anyone else felt differently with just one pregnancy? Im wondering if it’s my age (36) or I read that if you’re more sick you’ve a higher chance of there being a chromosome disorder. We’ve had a family member just lose a baby to Edwards syndrome a couple of months ago so I’m really paranoid/worried.
I suppose I’m just looking reassurance that others have felt differently with one of their pregnancy’s to a couple of others or can shed any light as to why this is the case. Could it be that I’ve more reflux now (I think caused by my third pregnancy). I have had three easy pregnancies and just worrying non stop with this one :/

I was so nauseous with all 3 of mine and were all born perfectly healthy but I've heard from loads of people that some pregnancies they were sick with amd others weren't I really don't think it's anything to worry about 😊

Lilfairy · 31/10/2023 20:35

Okay thank you! I think it’s just the two family members with chromosome disorders the last 4 months I’m reading into everything and read more sick can be because of chromosome disorder. Thanku 😊

I felt sick with all of mine but definitely worse with third, I think just because your more tired with having the others and the more tired you are the worse the nausea!

fourelementary · 31/10/2023 21:43

All of my pregnancies got worse sickness wise… so fourth was nausea for weeks and weeks and sickness regularly too until week 18 or so…

I have 4, 3 girls and a boy and only experienced morning sickness with my son (he was my second child). I also only had an outy belly button with him and only developed the brown line down my belly with him. He was also the only one I developed an allergy to fish with. I doubt that it was because he was a boy but because of the uniqueness of each pregnancy. I am sure that all will be fine OP. Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy and and a quick and easy birth 😊

My pregnancy sickness got better with each child. Number one was hyper sickness, number two, bad morning sickness, number three a bit in the beginning, number four, none at all! First three were boys, last was a girl. I always put it down to my body getting used to being pregnant.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 31/10/2023 21:59

Have you had a scan? Definitely only one baby in there?

Moomoomomo · 31/10/2023 22:07

Mine has got worse with each pregnancy until weirdly with this one (6th pregnancy but 4th successful) I had barely any.

Lilfairy · 31/10/2023 22:52

Yes definitely only 1 baby lol! The sickness only really comes at night time but for someone who’s never been sick before I feel horrendous this time!

If @Alicenwonderland got better with each pregnancy mine must be preparing me for the craziness of four lol!

I had a girl when I was 25/26.. so wonder if it’s a girl and feel so much worse because so much older..other two boys and last one just three years ago.

Really don’t know but will feel much better after the 20 week scan!

If it makes you feel better, I had a baby with a severe genetic condition and no sickness at all during pregnancy. My subsequent pregnancies (healthy babies) were the same. Try not to worry!

stealtheatingtunnocks · 31/10/2023 23:03

Twins are lovely but I’m not sorry to not have been blessed with them, arf.

I am not a midwife but I have kids and am not concerned by anything that you have said. Might be sensible to chat it through with your team, reassurance is part of their role and they can rule out anything that would be a worry.

congratulations by the way

Lilfairy · 31/10/2023 23:44

Thank you@anicecuppateaa how do you find having a baby with a severe genetic disorder if you don’t mind me asking?

I’m currently 19 weeks with my 5th and I’m still ridiculously nauseas. No sickness or nausea at all with my first 3, some sickness with my 3rd until 13 weeks but this time around it’s been something else! Its horrendous 😔

Lilfairy · 01/11/2023 14:15

Sorry to hear that @TigOlBitties i know how it feels - especially when had easy pregnancies! What do you have at home? Boys or girls? Curious if different genders means different sickness!x

I've got sicker with each.
GGGBG I had them at 21, 30,31,40,41. No correlation for mw between sickness and the babies sex, just older I got and the more I felt sick.

SleepingStandingUp · 01/11/2023 15:09

If it helps I had NO nausea, practically no symptoms at all with eldest and he's the one with the extra chromosomes.
Nowy twin pregnancy, I felt awful. Have you had a first scan yet?

Lilfairy · 02/11/2023 08:38

Thanks guys, making me feel much better. I’ll feel better again when get the anomaly scan. Ah the worries - never felt like this but hoping it’s just because it’s my last baby. The midwife said it’s like you think how many times can I play this game and it be okay and that’s exactly how I feel.

Just over 12 weeks and thankfully feeling much better :)
