Oral thrush pregnancy

Hi there

I’m 18 weeks and I have had oral thrush for 11 weeks now. The doctor will only treat me with nystatin and it simply doesn’t work - I’ve used it nearly every week for 11 weeks. It’s right on the back of my throat/uvula so a specialist said it’s hard to get it there.

I’ve been told miconazole oral gel is a risk in pregnancy but I wondered if any other mums have used it? From what they’ve shown me it seems it’s been used in Australia my mums to be without any adverse effects but there is no proper testing on humans in pregnancy.

I also have hyperemesis and whilst feeling a lot better with that, the oral thrush too makes me feel sick and I just feel so down and uncomfortable. The doctor said I’ll have to live with it until I give birth 😭.

any personal experience please share.

thank you x
