Nothing on scan - looking for any outcome's

Hi all looking for anyone who has been through anything similar and had a good outcome.

Had a scan today due to pain and some brown discharge, I should be 5 weeks 6days and
they couldn't see anything but it was extremely painful in the left side.
They said it's currently a pregnancy of an unknown location and that it could just be to early or it could be ectopic and they can't see it yet.
But she did say that the lining of my uterus is thinner than what it should be so I'm guessing that this is definitely not going to be a successful pregnancy either way.
Had bloods taken and got to go back on Wednesday for more.

I'm sorry OP, for me when I had this it ended up being an ectopic :( although I was having fertility treatment so my dates couldn't be doubted and it was really the only possible outcome. Hopefully you have a more positive result and your dates are just off.

I'm so sorry that yours ended up being an ectopic. And hope you've managed to go onto have a healthy pregnancy since 💐.

This happened to me in July, I had a ‘period’ normal flow and length but kept feeling sick did a test and got a BFP 5days after my period. GP referred me to EPAU because I’d had an ectopic in Jan, had a scan and was told there was no sign of pregnancy at all. No CL cyst and lining was below 8 (whatever that means) so likely another ectopic but for now PUL. Had hcg blood draws every 48hrs my numbers were doubling but only just, was actually told numbers were too low so highly probable another ectopic. Had a scan 6 days later again couldn’t see anything other than a possible tiny gestational sac. They wouldn’t say it was for sure so went down as PUL again by this point my hcg was in the 3000’s. Was told I’ll likely miscarry naturally but to return for a scan in 10 days. Went back 10 days later fully prepared to be told it was another ectopic/miscarriage and saw my baby measuring 6+2 with a strong heartbeat. Obviously I was measuring way behind the dates they originally had but at my 12week scan baby had caught up and my due date was moved again. I’m currently 19 weeks.
I can’t say if your outcome will be the same, unfortunately I’ve experienced both outcomes, but sometimes there is a happy outcome. Even the sonographer said she was surprised, as all the odds were against me.
