Slow test but dark line

I have just done had a positive test after realising I am 4 days late.

We're not TTC at the moment and this month I have been quite ill so we haven't DTD as many times as usual and according to my period tracker we didn't do it around the time I was ovulating - I don't track our sex life I just remember I was ill at that time. I know it just takes one time and no contraception is 100% but feeling a bit in denial that this is an actual positive!

The test line came up right away and was very dark straight away but then it took a while for the rest of the test to get to the control line, I think by the time the control line came up it had been about 5 minutes. Is this a sign of a faulty test? I have another test I can take later but want to try and prepare myself.

I've just gone back to it, the control line is now much darker than the test line but this was done about an hour ago now

That looks very positive to me! X

I agree it looks positive but the way it took over 5 minutes for the control line to come up and the fact the positive was so dark to start with has thrown me a bit. I'm used to the control line coming up first and then waiting for the test line.

One of these is wrong!

DH went out and bought a 2 pack of clear blue tests. I'll do another test in the morning but I am thinking it will be negative because the first one did seem to just not work right.

The first pic you posted... it looks a bit weird to me. I would test with sensitive one (10mIu/mo) for next few days just to make sure.

Your first test looks flooded. I’d usually go by the digital one since you’re already late.
Id try again with fmu and see what it says, even if you take a pink dye and digital.
