How long to get first bloods results

I had my first set of bloods taken last Thursday and a urine sample given.

My midwife said the results will go on my Badger Notes but she didn’t say how long it would take and I completely forgot to ask.

I had my bloods taken on the 16th of this month and the results still haven't been published!

SarahBowie · 30/10/2023 12:59

@Jadex92x omg I thought it would be quicker than that! Did your midwife give any idea of how long you’d need to wait?

Half of mine took a full month, and the other half I didn't find out until my next midwife's appt! But I called the midwife admin and they reassured me that if anything is abnormal, they'd be in touch straight away.

I’ve found that they’re really inconsistent with uploading results and appointment notes onto Badger, some will publish them straight away and some won’t at all. The midwife told me to always chase them up with publishing them if it’s been a while

No it wasn't a midwife that took my booking bloods was just a nurse I'm sure.

I got mine at my next appointment. They will call if there's a problem

SarahBowie · 30/10/2023 22:04

@Superkits And @WAC1 that gives me peace of mind that they’ll ring if there’s a problem. Just hope I don’t have to wait too long

They're usually checked at the 16 week appt. Why do you need them?

SarahBowie · 31/10/2023 11:13

@splishysplash It’s my first pregnancy and I want to know that everything is ok with baby

Mine arrived by post around 8/9 days later - they also said they would call if anything needed to be discussed.

Abnormal results will be flagged up to the midwife and she'll contact you if necessary.
