Positive and Negative Tests - Beyond Confused

I've already followed the right channels, phoned the GP to which they were incredibly unhelpful and now waiting for someone from the EPU to call but I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice in the meantime... anxious Annie over here.

I'm three days late and I've taken a total of 6x tests all suggesting both negative and positive.

Easy at home has given me 3 faint positives and 1 negative this morning.

Asda has given me 2 negatives

And Clear Blue has said I'm 1-2 weeks pregnant

Has anyone had anything similar? I've obviously done the worst thing and googled and now my head is spinning thinking it's a chemical pregnancy.

I've got really bad cramping but had that since Monday last week and not abnormal a few days before my period but that's the only symptom.

Personally I would stop testing today and test tomorrow morning with FMU. I prefer a clear blue but others prefer a pink dye test. It is unusual to get positive and negatives so perhaps you're borderline HCG levels at the moment. HCG doubles every 48-72 hours.

You can also book a private hcg blood test but results take a day or two so I would see how you get on tomorrow.

Make sure you wee in a cup so if you need to you can re test and only look at the results in the time specified on the box . Good luck

Ps epu can't do anything for you for several weeks

TeaKitten · 30/10/2023 11:23

GP and EPU can’t help you yet really. You probably just need to wait and see what happens over the next few days, it could be a chemical, or it could just be that you ovulated late and Asda tests aren’t sensitive enough yet. I hope you get the outcome you want OP.

PinkRoses1245 · 30/10/2023 11:25

I'd leave the tests for a couple of days, and try and get some FRER ones if you can. And kindly, EPU can't do anything at this stage, a scan wouldn't be helpful this early on.

TallulahTaboo · 30/10/2023 12:21

Thank you for your replies, appreciate that a lot.

EPU called and were unbelievably kind. Said to test from Thursday as I'll be 6/7 days late and the tests might be more accurate then. They did suggest doing a blood test but said id need to be at the hospital every 2 days which I don't want to go down just now.

Just the unknown that plays on your mind. Thursday isn't far away so I'll retest then.

I've woken up to blood this morning, not much but still enough, I'm guessing this isn't good news. I just knew something wasn't right.

Does anyone know what I do now? Do I just let things go naturally or do I need to contact anyone?

Sorry to read that you woke up to blood OP. It sound like a CP to me. I've had this a couple of times myself. About a week after the bleeding I tested again to make sure I was getting negatives.

Prettything · 31/10/2023 07:28

You don't really need to contact anyone at this stage just wait it out and see if period arrives obviously if anything feels different or wrong then speak to gp. I had a miscarriage last month and was able to deal with it at home pretty easily. Hopefully you have some support emotionally as It's more emotional pain than anything I'd say. Fingers crossed for you xx
