Gasping for air at 35 Weeks

Hello

So tonight I drifted off to sleep only to wake up an hour later sat bolt upright gasping for air. It really felt like I couldn’t breathe.

I have really bad acid reflux tonight so I’m so wondering if that has anything to do with it but now I’ve worried myself to death about going back to sleep!! Google’s just worried me more, I should know better by now! I’m knackered 😪

Has anyone else has the same?

Hi, I’ve not ever been pregnant but I have had acid reflux for years and it definitely affects my breathing when it’s bad. Only your midwife or gp can say what it is for sure of course.

If Rennie tablets are safe to take In pregnancy then take a couple and try sleeping sitting up. If it’s just acid reflux then this should help a lot. Get well soon.

Isn’t that a symptom of pre-eclampsia? I would call the midwife for advice asap.

I suffered terribly with acid reflux during pregnancy it so uncomfortable, gavisicon and milk helps sooth it, also my sinuses were blocked and had to pinch the top of my nose to help me breath, sleep with pillows that prop you up rather than laying down flat with help with breathing and reflux.

Thank you.

It’s only happened the once, I think I’ve just scared myself!

I think that’s shortness of breath, which I don’t have. Just this one random gasping for air which woke me up . I will call in the morning anyway just to see what they say.
