Hospital bag

Hi everyone

I’m due for a c section in 3 weeks and just wondering what to pack in my hospital bag? Any essentials you would recommend?

For you:
1- snacks (your go to ones for when you feel sick),
2- sanitary towels (postpartum ones are thicker),
3- comfy clothes that you can layer, (the wards are very warm, I slept in a nightdress and had a cardigan to put over me when I left my bed at night),
4- phone charger,
5- something to do while waiting for your surgery like a downloaded film or book (you could be waiting all day),
6- slippers,
7- basic toiletries.

For baby:
1- newborn nappies,
2- wipes,
3- sleeveless vests,
4- babygrows,
5- pre-made bottles, (even if you are planning to breastfeed). At 4am when you are alone with your baby and they are screaming, it’s nice to have the option of giving them a bottle.
6- muslins.
