Retroverted uterus + cyst

Hi all! I’ve just had an early scan at my local EPU because I was in a lot of discomfort. I’m only 7 weeks and they found that I have a retroverted uterus + a 7cm cyst. I called my GP and they referred me to start my Antenatal consultations early, but still haven’t heard back from them.

I’m in so much discomfort that it’s starting to put me down. I’m in a constant need to pee and I can see that urine is leaking sometimes. When I wake up at night and my bladder is full I get a lot of pain :( I also get constant stabbing pains down there.

has anyone been through something similar and has it improved thoughtout the pregnancy ? It’s so early and I can’t imagine being like this for 9 months.

Hi OP,

I also had a retroverted uterus. In addition to the antenatal referral please ask your GP to refer you to your local hospital or trust’s urodynamics or urogynaecology department as a matter of urgency. They’re amazing and can help with rare complications regarding retroverted uteruses and bladders.
