Faint positive at 8 weeks pregnant

Hi, just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar to this..
I found out I was pregnant just over 4 weeks ago, a few days after I started to bleed, fairly heavily for around a week. Didn’t really have any pain or large clots in the bleeding, it was just like a regular period.
3 weeks on I’m still testing positive, I’ve had odd bits of spotting during the 3 weeks but not much and looks like old blood (I would currently be around 8 weeks) the tests seem faint compared to my previous pregnancy at this point, haven’t really had a very dark line since I started testing this time. Is it likely I’m still pregnant or does the HCG just take a while go back to zero after miscarriage, attached pictures of the tests below

The only way to find out is to have a scan, unfortunately.

Test lines can get fainter at around 8 weeks due to the hook effect, but if you've been testing regularly throughout and not seen a strong line, and also had heavy bleeding, I would prepare for the worst but hope for the best.

I wouldn't want to wait for the 12 week scan.

Would your EPU scan you?

It's normal. Google the hook effect.

I phoned them on Friday and explained what had happened, they said if I’m still testing positive and not bleeding now to assume I’m still pregnant and if I have anymore bleeding to phone back. So will probably have to book a private scan as I don’t think I can wait another 4 weeks to find out!

I would book a private scan! What a load of rubbish the epu are sometimes 🤦‍♀️

Basically yes you could still be pregnant, but you also may not be and the tests could be picking up on retained tissue which can cause serious infection and complications... I know this because I experienced it! They do not know unless they scan you which they should be doing! Sorry you're not getting the help and support you should be x
