Chemical Pregnancy

I am currently having what I believe to be a chemical pregnancy.

I would be about 5 weeks pregnant, I am on day 2 of bleeding.
my tests are still positive, I think getting fainter.

reading online it says that tests are normally negative and then the bleeding starts.

should I be worried my tests are still positive?
I have red blood with clots and it’s quite heavy like a period.

i also have some light pain in my groin and hip occasionally.

i am waiting to speak to epau and my gp but they are closed currently so thought I’d ask here first

thanks

I'm so sorry love, sending all my love to you💞

I had a chemical pregnancy and I got a positive test, then a week later to the exact date of the positive test I started bleeding. Had a scan and the sac was empty, nothing there and I was advise to take a test and it said not pregnant. Please contact your doctor in the morning and be seen x

@Shannon9955
Thank you ❤️

My tests are still showing as positive but I’m very clearly having a MC so wondered if that’s normal.

I will call my GP in the morning to see if that’s normal.

how far gone were you when they scanned you?

Can be very normal. I've had 4 miscarriages. First was at 8 weeks when I started to bleed, second was a chemical, 3rd was another miscarriage at 8/9 weeks, last one was a missed miscarriage at 10 weeks. I now have a little girl❤️

My tests with my last miscarriage were still strong, but the weeks indicator on the digital test went from 2-3 weeks to 1-2 weeks so the HCG was dropping. I think very normal to still have positive tests as you'll still have HCG in your system

@Shannon9955

Thank you so much. Hopefully that is all it is.
So hard to not worry there is more to it.

Sending all my love back, sounds like you’ve had a hard time. Admire you 🩷

Sorry you're going through this, it is truly rubbish.

When I had my CP I tested positive (quite faint) at around 4 and a half weeks then started bleeding a few days later. Like you it was clear to me it was a miscarriage so I didn't have any false hope of still being pregnant but my tests stayed faintly positive for a few weeks after the bleeding. I was just using the cheap test sticks I already had but they were very sensetive so still picking up the tiniest amount of hcg.

@Moomoomo
So sorry to hear you went through this too.

I have come to terms with the chemical pregnancy now because I know it’s very clearly the outcome.

Yeah I am using the cheap ones as I know it’s only to see if they’ve become negative yet and don’t want to waste the expensive ones.
They seem to be quite good a picking up positives so hopefully I start to see it fading a lot more over the next few days.
I am only on day 2 so I’m sure I have a way to go yet.

Thank you for the reassurance that a positive can be normal even though it’s clearly coming to an end.

sending love 🩷
