Weight Gain at 28 Weeks Pregnant

Hi all, hope everyone is well!

Looking for some reassurance or clarity. I started off pregnancy at a healthy BMI of 22, however I am becoming increasingly aware and concerned at how much weight I’ve gained with 12 weeks still to go.

So I’m asking, what was normal for you? how much weight had you gained by the time you reached the third trimester?

I hope you get what you need from this thread, but honestly, there is no normal. There are wild variations and then quick or slow loss after, also wildly varying.

I had hg and was so ill I actually lost weight while pregnant. I looked very haggard and was all bump. One day in my last trimester, I could eat. I was actually hungry. By the time I gave birth, I had regained the weight and a little bit.

I wore my size 10 skinny jeans home from hospital. Felt amazing. Looked forward to getting rid of the wee mummy pouch. Kept gaining though. I was starving all the time. It was like the baby took everything from me and I could not fill myself. Craved sugary shit like nothing I had ever experienced. I do not even like sweet stuff usually. I am a cheese for dessert person.

Anyway, I gained 2lbs first pregnancy, 4 lbs in my second. Both times I gained weight (a stone/1 1/2 stone) within the first month post partum 😒

I'm 3rd trimester now (37 weeks), I actually haven't weighed myself in months. No reason, I just haven't gotten round to it and haven't been weighed at any recent midwife appointments either. Maybe because it's my second pregnancy I'm much more relaxed about everything but I really don't care what number is on the scales. All my weight gain is in my bump and boobs so I figure that's nothing to get upset about, I'm pregnant after all.

No idea. If there was ever a time to not weigh myself pregnancy was it!

I've put on about 25 pounds so far (nearly 34 weeks in). I think it's been similar to my first pregnancy - I lost nearly all it afterwards (stayed a couple of pounds heavier, but didn't try too hard to shift that last bit!)

I didn’t weigh myself towards end of first pregnancy but put on about 21lbs
Im currently 25 weeks with baby no2 and have put on around a stone so far but I had food aversions and nausea for entire first trimester and some of my second trimester this time around. Had BMI of about 20-21 before pregnancy.
