Pregnancy line progression

Feeling a little lost today with the whole TTC journey.
I have got myself in a spiral and need some reassurance.
Do I have line eyes and anxiety and just not seeing these lines progress?
or are they getting darker?
I am 4w6d according to my app.
I did a digital on Monday and it said 1-2 weeks

Thanks in advance and please be honest 🤞🏻

You can try taking another brand of test strip. I'm not seeing much of a line darkening, but for what it's worth, your 4w6d test looks similar to my 4w3d test. You could have implanted later.

Or as many women will recommend, you can stop testing so frequently or all together. Line progression isn't an exact science and stressing about it is not going to do you any good. But also, I test every morning because not testing would be even more anxiety inducing for me so I get it.

Try another brand, use FMU, take note of any other symptoms, and phone the midwife if it becomes too much of a spiral for you.

As PP suggested maybe use a different brand but to be honest it will just fuel your anxiety even more. FWIW I did 2 cheap tests using the same sample, one came out faint and one was dark. I don't personally see the lines getting darker as such but of course from the first test you did to the last one the line is clearly darker. I would stop testing and maybe you can book a scan around 7-8 weeks

Thank you! I have tried not testing and it makes me spiral more 😩

Should I be worried if the line is not getting darker?
I don’t have any other symptoms to suggest anything is wrong currently.

It's not exact science. Some women don't see their lines getting darker and have successful pregnancies. Other women have perfectly dark line progression and miscarry. The tests themselves are only meant to be indicative of whether or not you are pregnant.

Us anxious mums to be are the ones who try to use them as a fortune telling device and give them too much weight when we shouldn't. Again, I fall into that latter category so don't think I'm insulting anyone here. There's so much uncertainty in this whole TTC process and any bit of comfort no matter how small is very welcome.

Do you have other symptoms?

sastro2023 · 20/10/2023 09:46

The comfort is what I need. I don’t remember feeling this anxious on my previous pregnancy but we have been through a lot recently and I’m not sure I can cope with any more bad news 😞

I have backache, some on and off cramping, one and off sore boobs and a cold currently 🤷🏻‍♀️

There's some comfort there. You have quite a few early pregnancy symptoms already.

Try to rest and recover from your cold today if you can.

Update for anyone reading this in the future.

step away from the tests as it does not change the outcome.

This ended in a chemical pregnancy ❤️
