Is anyone else struggling in the first trimester?

MY GOD. The first trimester SUCKS. This is my first pregnancy, and I'm 8 weeks 1 day and just feel like actual shit. I feel nauseous from morning till night, but not really throwing up, so I feel like people don't think that's bad. But I feel just so so awful. The nausea is really affecting me. And I constantly feel like I'm on the verge of throwing up.

I have been gagging and threw up a little bit, but I'm keeping meals down.

And I'm so so tired.

Sorry, I just wanted to moan really, is anyone else feeling this way? I'm so happy to be pregnant but not enjoying it so far. Not that I expected it to be easy.

I'm just 5 weeks today and am so thankful I'm on holiday this week. I took 2 naps today and it's not even 5pm! How am I going to function when I'm back at work on Monday? Don't think boss man will be impressed if I go for a mid day siesta. And crazy enough, I feel like I could use another nap now.

Nausea started for the first time about 30 minutes ago for me too. I'm encouraged by all these symptoms though. I have had two prior miscarriages and these symptoms have been stronger than my previous pregnancies.

Oh I'm sorry to hear about your losses. But yes definitely encouraging that you're feeling stronger symptoms this time. Congratulations on your pregnancy!!
Oh I'm exactly the same with the napping. Some days I have actually napped 3 times. I am napping everyday at work on my lunch break because I physically cannot get through a 40 hour work week without napping. I was really really bothered by the tiredness but now my sickness is getting worse that has definitely become my worst symptom.

The day before I found out I was pregnant was when my sickness began, but it's getting worse (sob)

I might book some annual leave because I'm am greatly struggling and need a week to sleep haha.

I reaaaaally hope these symptoms improve in the second trimester like everyone says!

I really didn't enjoy the first trimester - very similar to you with lots of nausea but not much vomiting. 8/9 weeks was the worst of it for me, symptoms much better by about 14 weeks so hopefully similar for you.

No useful advice, just solidarity!

Oh I hate first trimester! I always say never again when I'm in it 🤣 but this pregnancy calmed a lot around 9 weeks. I'm not 15+3 and kinda want some symptoms back as I don't feel pregnant and it makes me worry haha. You'll be through it, it's a tough ride tho x

@Omgreally11 congratulations on your pregnancy

I'm 15+3 now but completely felt the same way as you from weeks 7-13. The last 2 weeks have shown gradual improvement.

I was off work for a while due to other reasons, and would sleep until 12, then require another nap at around 3, then an early night. Completely lost my appetite and would throw up and the smallest movement - or at the thought/sight/smell of certain food. I get it - and feel so bad for those ladies who have to work throughout this period or have other children to look after. It's debilitating.

However, 15 weeks in, it has gotten a lot better and I'm starting to enjoy certain foods again. I've gone from throwing up 3x day to maybe twice a week. Nausea is very occasional now.

My mum bought me one of those bracelet things that send a small (safe) electric shock to the pressure points on your wrist. For me, that really helped with the nausea, as did ice cold water.

Do what you need to do to get through and don't be hard on yourself. Your body is going through a lot. My best wishes to you
