Early scan after spotting showed Subchorionic hematoma

Hello everyone had a early scan today at 8 weeks after a bit of spotting a couple of weeks ago. Haven't had any since and no pain. Baby was looking good with a healthy heartbeat. But they said there was a moderate subchorionic hematoma covering up to 50% of the gestation sac!

They didn't seem worried or really said much about it. Can someone explain? Anyone had this with positive outcome?

Hi, I had the same thing, ant 7 weeks I had such a big bleed it hit the kitchen floor. I was sure there was no way the baby survived. An early scan showed I had 3 hematomas. Try not to worry mine all reabsorbed by the 12 week scan and I’ve got a very healthy 5 month old. I know it’s easier said than done. Have they booked you in for any more scans?

@MrsT36 thankyou for replying, I'm so glad your pregnancy ended up being healthy! No they said they would just check it at my 12 week scan so I assume they aren't that worried?

Yes I had one, with a big bleed at 9 weeks

She is 6 now and tucked up in bed. Best wishes.

I had one at 6 weeks. I stood up from the sofa and blood just ran down my leg. It had disappeared by my 12 week scan.
She's two now and upstairs singing to her teddy because they aren't tired and are staying up all night. Not sure how teddy feels about it all.

I had one. At 12 weeks, bigger than baby. At 20 weeks had disappeared, just like that. And hadn’t come out. I was so worried so understand. Baby is now 20 and at university.

At a 7 week scan, the sonographer saw “an area of bleeding in front of the embryo”. She didn’t seem worried and said it would probably resolve itself.

I had spotting every 3-5 days for several weeks, and occasional bleeding after that. But DD was born healthy at 38 weeks. I know it’s easy to say this now, but I wish I hadn’t worried so much.
