Expecting twins so have been told I need around 6/7 bottles per baby. Basically around 14. Rather than buying 14 small 160 ml bottles which apparently only last a month or two. Should i buy the 260 ml and fill appropriately for a newborn. Just trying to be cost effective here as its a lot of money for something that will last a month.

Just get a small amount of the smaller bottles and then some bigger ones.

Congratulations! How exciting! I would get a couple of the small ones and they rest big ones. I know you didn't ask and I am not one to push breastfeeding but I have had two sets of twins. The first set I nursed and the second set I could not because of cleft palate issues. They were both hard for the normal reasons but the breastfeeding was simply easier on me as the mom.

When small they don't drink much and I found it was hard to measure in the big bottles

I would go for 4 or 6 little ones and then more big bottles (enough so you wash them once per day)

but get a good measurement device/cup/jug that can measure as small as 30ml... actually you can make double and split it!

Also look at nuby rapidcool it changed. My. Life.
So good. So convenient.

@Ella31 congratulations on the twins I had my twins in July and I brought the tommee tippee sterilizer kit got 4 small and 4 bigs ones and then just brought two extra big bottles which was the same from Aldi they was only £4 each on there baby event they do. Just brought some more big ones from smyths which was £16 for 6 which isn’t that bad. I just sterilize them once there are like 4-6 in the sterilizer.

Thanks, why am I being told 7 bottles per baby? Is that too much?

@Ella31 at first mine spent most of the time sleeping than feeding so I was good with just the bottles that came with the sterilizer. They will prob drink more throughout the night aswell mine did and I just got my partner to put the used bottles in the sterilizer when he got up for work which was like 3.30-4am so they was ready for the morning feeds

I don't think so 7 is about right if you want to wash them once every 24 hours.

We had 3 or 4 (like idiots) for our singular baby. And were always scrambling to find a clean one.
At 5 months in or so I had a brainwave and bought more so we had enough bottles for 24 hours.
That meant we washed and sterilised everything once per day (we did it in the evening) then refrigerated the bottles
It was SO much more civilised.

You can often get second hand bundles on Gumtree/ FB marketplace for a good deal. Definitely buy enough to make your life as easy as possible.
