Hello ….
so I’m probably just freaking out for absolutely no reason but … a few months ago I saw a small lump on my vulva and went to have a nurse look. They advised that it was a skin tag and just be careful when shaving …
anyway, I’m due to give birth in a couple weeks so was just having a little look down there lol and noticed there is another one of these lumps appearing although it’s still really small at the minute.
i have completely freaked out and googled and convinced myself it’s a genital wart …. Hubby can’t understand why I’m being so dramatic as he says a nurse has already assessed and said it’s a skin tag so won’t magically morph into a wart. I know he’s right but I think because I’m due to give birth so soon I’m just panicking about the worries of passing anything onto baby….
I know it sounds ridic but would you trust a gp nurse or should I have gone to a gum / sexual health clinic ? I tried to call them this morning and I’m number 35 in the queue so doubt I’ll be getting an appointment before baby comes !! ….
the only reason I’m worried is because my friend told me before that she went to the gp about something similar and they misdiagnosed her and referred her to sexual health instead…
i know I’ll get all the comments about anxiety etc but trust me I know I’m probably being unreasonable just can’t help it as want everything perfect for the birth!!

Hi @Ppeter500

I'm in exactly the same position and wondering what the outcome was for you. I'm 33 weeks pregnant and noticed that the skin tag on my vulva that I had diagnosed last year looks a little bigger and theres a slightly smaller new one that's appeared near to it. I've booked an appointment at a sexual health clinic to get it checked, really hoping it's just a skin tag still!

@rosied31 all was completely fine!! Apparently skin tags grow and change in pregnancy due to hormones.
I ended up down an awful rabbit hole and self diagnosing but honestly I would try not to worry. If it was diagnosed as a skin tag then the liklihood is that it’s just changed as you are so far gone now. Definitely get it checked to be safe but try not to worry.
