Period type pains & back ache 35 weeks

Hellooo

im 35+2 & since Wednesday I’ve had period type pains regularly (low down bottom of bump like my period is starting, accompanied by nausea) but not necessarily in a pattern.
multiple times an hour but can be 20 mins between or 5 or 10.
I’ve also had backache starting yesterday & neither pains go away with painkillers or movement/changing position.
had some ‘snotty’ discharge yesterday too but it was clear. (Sorry TMI!)

I saw a GP yesterday evening to check it wasn’t a UTI, she said there was leukocytes in my wee but nothing else to suggest a UTI however has given me antibiotics just incase. She also suggested I’m in ‘early labour’ but as the pains aren’t getting any worse I really can’t see this being the case!

I was induced with my son so I’m new to natural labour starting.

has anyone had similar? I feel like I’m in limbo and worrying about it all.

thanks all x

It could well just be braxton hicks and everything stretching, punching the head down. Or it could be the early stages of labour, which can last days.
Try and time the length of the pains, and the time between pains, them write it down and see if there’s a pattern.

I’ve been writing it down today & last night after seeing the dr.
there’s no real pattern other than it happens around 3 or 4 times an hour. They last around 30 seconds to a minute each time.

I thought BH were tightenings across the top/middle of the bump rather than period pains?

If it’s pushing down to engage the head it can feel like period pains.

I was in early labour for 3 days with my second, it took a sweep by my MW on day 4 to really get things going and he was born later that day. I was only in established labour for about 3 hours before he arrived, I think because my body had slowly done all the work in the days prior :)

What you’re describing is exactly how things started for me. Good luck!
