Not been taking vitamin D’s in pregnancy?

Hiya
I just wanted to ask if anyone else has been really bad with taking pre natal vitamins throughout their pregnancy….
during the first 3 months I took folic acid religiously. At my booking apt midwife told me I need to take Vit D and don’t worry about the folic acid anymore… she said no need for actual pre natal vitamins as they’re a waste of money, just take vit D, any own brand is fine.
I was taking them religiously but as the pregnancy went on I just started to forget about them here and there.
I was then put on injections, iron tablets, anti viral tablets, and antibiotics. I’m still on eveything apart from the antibiotics, so to be honest I’ve just been completely forgetting to take the vitamin D’s alongside everything els.
im due in a couple of weeks and just wondered whether or not it’s super duper bad that I haven’t been taking the vit D’s… scans have all been fine baby measuring on 50th centile etc.
feel really guilty and as though I’m already a bad mumma for forgetting such a simple thing… my friends who have had babies said they never missed a day of their pre natals as they’re so important so that’s made me feel even worse!

The advice to take vitamin D is relatively new. I did go for a presentation scan at 37 weeks and the sonographer said to make sure I’m continuing to take them right to the end as she’d recently scanned a lady whose baby’s skull hadn’t formed correctly due to vitamin D deficiency. I’d say don’t stress about it but take some again now

I’ve never been told to take vitamin d! I’m 38 weeks now and have never taken one. Please don’t worry. I’m sure our babies will be fine 🙂

Just had a quick google and this is what it says on NHS page. Hope that helps.

Wouldn't worry, start taking the supplement from now as it's more the winter months when it is needed most. Food like breakfast cereals and bread are fortified with it also, so if you google natural sources of vitamin D, you probably eat some of those anyway, although it isn't as high a dose as the independent supplement.

Is probably fine as it's been pretty warm and sunny so chances are you've been getting lots of Vitamin D but I think advice is more important in autumn and winter.

I'm really forgetful so I bought a little pill organiser for when I've had to take multiple things so it's all laid out for the week which helps me remember to take everything and also I can easily check if I've forgotten in the day. Plus it's just quicker than messing about with different packsm You can get them cheap in boots/chemists if sometimes you forget?
