So i know this is going to sound very weird ... but I think i swallowed a small bit of my filling a few nights ago. i was eating something very crunchy so I'm not 100% sure if i did or not but i checked my mouth and it looked like i did but then again i never check my filling so it could always have looked like that XD anyway i know amalgam fillings contain 50% mercury im just really worried that it might be harming my baby (32 weeks pregnant) because mercury is bad for baby and we are told to stay away from fish with high mercury content. I haven't called my dentist as im not in pain and im not even sure if it actually happened. im just wondering if any one here could advise me on what i should do and if this could harm my baby.
thanks
worried mom to be ...

It will pass through with no issue. You can only absorb mercury in certain states, like as a vapour or methylated IIRC. None of these exist in an amalgam filling. It’s probably already been flushed away.

thank you for your response since wed night ive been googling and googling with so much conflicting results !! i would assume we would be exposed to small bits of it every day as it is in our mouth but i was more concerned and thinking would our stomach acid be strong enough to break it down !! thanks for your response !!
