I've got covid at 20 weeks pregnant, can this harm the baby? Do I need to tell my midwife? Any info or advice is much appreciated x

Hey!
I got covid at 35 weeks pregnant.. no harm done to baby, I did call my midwife but was just told rest, hydration and paracetamol if needed x

Advice now is to treat same as a cold. Keep fluids up, rest and paracetamol if needed. If you’re having breathing difficulties contact hospital. But there’s not much else you can do. There’s no isolation or anything like that needed anymore

I got it at 39 weeks pregnant. Baby was fine. I just stayed in bed for the best part of a week to recover

I got it twice at 15 and 30 weeks pregnant, there were no issues with me or the baby. The second time I got it a midwife did a short risk assessment with me to do with blood clots I think, but otherwise was just told to take it easy and take paracetamol

Tell your midwife as they may book you an extra growth scan as covid can make baby abit smaller so they told me - they booked me one although but in terms of treatment you just deal with it in the usual way

I had it at around 20 weeks too, no harm done and I just told my midwife at my next appointment, who didn’t seem too concerned. Hope you’re not feeling too rough x

Tell your midwife. I had extra scans too, Covid can do something to the placenta apparently.
