Hey all. I have 2 boys and am pregnant with my third.. I was convinced this was my third boy. I went to a company at 13 weeks pregnant who say they can tell you the gender via ultra sound at that stage with 99.9% accuracy. Having checked their reviews (really highly rated) I went along for a 13 week gender scan. They told me I’m having a baby girl.. but I feel in disbelief and am now convincing myself that it’s still a boy and they have got it wrong as I’m too early… I’ve attached a potty shot that they gave me. Has anyone else had an accurate gender scan at this point ? What do people think of it ? And what do you all think of the potty shot photo? Could it be wrong ?!

Thank you in advance ❤️😘

wow from 13 weeks is early to find out gender as most places I know of do from 15-16 weeks in my area.. but I would say their isn't anything in the middle of baby's legs so I would say it does look like your having a girl! Congratulations 😊 it's fairly obvious with a boy I think 😂

Olivia933 · 13/10/2023 09:19

Thanks for your response. I had my last son’s done at 14 weeks and it was very clearly a boy, I knew before they even told me. But have just seen people saying it could still develop and look like a girl at this point so got me worried 🤣

To be fair it's never 100% you have people told it's one gender the entire pregnancy and give birth to the opposite 🤣 but I'd say for the most part they're pretty accurate. My friend was told it was a girl at her 12 week NHS scan, she took it half heartedly until the 20 week scan just incase but it was infact a girl 😊. Everyone has guessed girl for me this time even tho I think boy, will be finding out on the 30th if they're all correct haha

Well I can’t see any beans and sausage, if that helps.

Olivia933 · 13/10/2023 09:27

Thanks for your reply ☺️ that’s very true! I suppose there’s always a chance of it being wrong and I’ll never truly know until they are in my arms but here’s to hoping 🤣 ! Oooh you will have to update us with what your babies gender turns out to be ! How exciting! Do you have any boys or girls already? Xx

Haha thanks it does help. I suppose I’m just anxious as it’s my last pregnancy and I’ve got 2 boys and would love to experience being a girl mum also. 🙏 thanks guys! Xx

I have one boy already, so I'm happy either way. For him to have a brother would be sweet and I'm used to being a boy mum (also cheaper with all the hand me downs and stuff 🤣) but I think this will be my last so to experience having a little girl would also be amazing! Will try to remember to update haha, if I forget feel free to @ me at the end of the month and I'll let you know! Xx

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 13/10/2023 09:30

@Olivia933 the sex of a baby is determined from conception as its down to what chromosome the sperms is carrying which is either Y or an X, our eggs always have an X chromosome so when sperms & egg meet if its XY = boy, and if its XX = girl! So don't worry as I don't think she will be developing into a boy anytime soon 🤣 it must be a shock to you after 2 boys but for me I'm sure you can understand the complete shock & disbelief I was in when I got told I'm having our 1st girl after 4 boys!! 😂 currently 22+4 🩷 Goodluck to you for the rest of your pregnancy 😊 x

Olivia933 · 13/10/2023 09:34

Ahh how lovely. You must be over the moon. Congratulations on your baby girl. Thank you so much and good luck to you for the rest of yours also 🙏🥰 xx

Haha yeah that makes sense! 2 boys is nice. And boys are so loving and amazing. But completely get the whole experiencing both if it’s your last! I’ll @ you at the end of the month to find out. Good luck with your pregnancy 🙏🥰 xxx

It looks like my potty shot for my girl at 16 weeks, 20 week scan has also confirmed girl xx

Olivia933 · 13/10/2023 18:56

Oooh that’s reassuring 🙏 thank you so much for your response 😊 xx

I'd definitely say this is a girl. But I'm surprised they did it at 14 weeks. I tried to book one at window to the womb at 16.6 weeks and we were told to change it to a few days later.

Olivia933 · 13/10/2023 21:11

Hey 😊 yeah they did it at 14 weeks for my son too and it was correct, but his was obviously a winky. I’ve had so many people saying at this point they can still develop so I’ve been convincing myself it’s wrong now 🤣 - it’s a play called ‘see your baby’ they do gender scans from 13weeks! I find it hard to believe but they seem sure they can tell at that point 🤔 thank you for your response 😘

It’s definitely too early to say at this point as the genitals haven’t formed properly yet. I’ve known people be told girl at 16 weeks as there’s no sign of boy genitals and then later found out it’s actually a boy. At the very earliest 14-15 weeks genitals might be seen but 13 weeks is definitely too early

missmae · 16/10/2023 19:16

@Olivia933 i went to see your baby with my last pregnancy and was very clearly a boy at 14 weeks no denying it, so I don’t think a week will make much difference! I’m going this weekend at just over 14 weeks to find out the gender of this one! They do say the genitals are fully formed by 12 weeks just whether it’s noticeable or not! X

Ttcmumma · 30/10/2023 13:13

@Olivia933 it is infact a baby girl I'm having!

Olivia933 · 30/10/2023 13:15

Yay for you 💕 congratulations. Xx
