How long after pre-op to c section

Hello everyone,
I had an appoinment at the hospital yesterday to discuss my c section. I'm currently 33 weeks and was told the c section would be done at 39 weeks, or the day after if this falls at the weekend.
I've got an appointment through for a pre-op when I'll be 39+1.
How soon after do they do the c section after the pre-op? I'm so scared they'll leave me too long and I'll end up having a natural labour with all the trauma, injuries and risks I had from my 1st baby. Is this correct?

My pre-op appointment is the day before my c section.

I think mine was a Tuesday snd c-section was the Thursday

At my local hospital it's 2 days before the op. If you go into labour before your elcs you will have the CS done as an emergency so I wouldn't worry about that so much.
