Early pregnancy testing confusion

I’m almost 37 and 5 weeks pregnant.
Given everything gets more doom and gloom as you get over the age of 35 I was thinking of getting the early tests done privately to check for any genetic conditions/abnormalities.
A clinic near me offers NIPT test, is this the same as the Harmony test? On the website it just states that it is similar, so wondering if it is just as good?
also, I have used this place before for early pregnancy scans when I was carrying my other children, but wouldn’t say the place is overly medical, is it usual for your regular baby scan clinics to do these tests? Guessing the samples all get sent away to the same labs for testing and results?
urgh, all so confusing, especially when I feel so queezy and tired! Any advice very much appreciated!x

I am 35, currently pregnant with my second and had the Harmony for both.

Harmony is like a brand name for NIPT so it doesn't really matter if it is the branded Harmony or not.

It is good as it is highly accurate, you have a scan and a blood test and then the blood is sent off to the lab.

I had mine this week with a consultant that I've been seeing privately but the test in no way needs to be done by a consultant and it makes total sense that a scanning place would be able to do it.

Consultant said the NHS screening is also very good by the way.
The problem is with age that can automatically trigger a marker in their algorithm which then means you need to get extra tests even though nothing is wrong - often the NHS will pay for NIPT if the combined screening test comes back high risk.

You can also find out the sex of the baby if you wish (I left it a surprise both times).

I didn't mind paying for it as it gave me peace of mind from 11 weeks that baby was looking fine and had to no genetic problems and I could start to chill.

I mean you can find out the sex with NIPT!

So helpful thank you @Knock123

I was a lot younger when I had my other 2 so it was never something I even thought of!
