Third baby- what was your labour like?

I'm a little anxious about labour the third time. Is it much quicker? At what point do you go to hospital? I'm worried about waiting too long as it's half an hour away- more in rush hour.

Mine was fairly quick but I felt a lot more in control as the midwives took me seriously that I knew it was time to go in. I went on when the contractions were just over four minutes apart and travelled in rush hour! The hospital is 40mins from us but it took a little longer.

Were your first two quick?

Hi! My labours were always a little long. Depends on the person.

1st labour - 3 days!

Second labour - 12 hours.
3rd labour - 8 hours.
4th labour - 7/8 hours.

I guess it is getting quicker, but the best labour was no3 when I did a lot of pregnancy yoga and spent a long time at home (got to 8cm dilated when arrived at the hospital). I called when I was having contractions 5 minutes apart, and had to wait for a taxi and 15 minute drive. Was still ok, but the drive is never pleasant and the taxi driver was super worried I was going to give birth in the taxi!

They asked me not to call until contractions were 5min apart, but maybe it is worth checking with your midwifes if you are worried?
