Sex 3/4 days before ovulation

So we have been trying to have another little one. my partner works away so I can only see him some weekends. My Flo app told me I ovulated on Monday but today (Wednesday) I have - egg white discharge. We had sex Saturday (technically Sunday at 2am) so I’m guessing I sadly won’t get pregnant from this? Sadly he’s away so I’m upset he’s not here when I’m actually ovulating 😭

You're not completely out.

"Sperm can live in the female reproductive tract for about 5 days, so pregnancy after sex may take place up to 1 week before ovulation. An egg lives for 12–24 hours after ovulation. This means that fertilization can occur if intercourse happens anywhere from several days before ovulation to about 1 day after ovulation."

When I got pregnant with DS1 I thought it wouldn't happen that month as DH was away during my fertile window so we had sex 3 days before ovulation (I was using ovulation sticks). But it worked! I think sperm can hang around in your body for a few days after having sex. Good luck OP.

I'm currently 21+2 with our what I call "one shot wonder" 🤣 only had sex once 4 days before ovulation! so you never know 😊 our first girl is due in Feb 2024.. 💕

My current pregnancy happened in the opposite scenario - DH was away, we wrote off that month of trying and ended up DTD a full 4 days after I should have ovulated. It's twins.

I think the moral is that all the sticks and apps can help, but none of it can actually tell you what is going on in there when, so you might as well try as much as you can even outside your assumed "window", and stay positive.

Don’t use the flo app. Use ovulation sticks. I ovulate about six days later than the app! Got pregnant first month of trying both times using the clear blue kit.

We did dtd Saturday 5th and Monday 7th around 3am in the morning and I had positive opk yesterday 9th so fingers crossed.
