Booking in BMI

Hi

Has anyone has their weight/ height / bmi incorrectly recorded at their booking in apppointment? I know my BMI would be high because no matter what size I am, i seem to weigh alot. However I was seriously shocked at a very high bmi result. Now i've used the NHS BMI calculator to check what stats would be put in to get to this figure, I just don't think that can possibly be correct, unless my scales are broken and my mirror is lying.

This is so triggering for me, i've suffered with ED in the past and just don't understand the figure she came up with.

Please double check with your midwife. Just contact her and say you’re a little confused and want to confirm it as it’s upsetting you. There was an error with mine and my midwife adjusted it at the 16 week appointment and was left at that. From what I gather, they just use the bmi calculator on their computer so I imagine (Hope) it’s accurate. Most likely though, you’ve worn more layers whilst standing on the midwife scales than you would at home.

Agree with PP, call up midwife or wait to next appointment, and get them to check it over and remeasure, you won't weigh much more at that appointment, prob just an extra 1-2kg. We all weigh more during the day also than first thing in the morning, so could be to do with that also..

That's true but it's quite a considerable difference. Thanks for your help :)
